Mentorship

The mentorship programme involves senior students (registered in any discipline for full-time study at UCT) who are carefully selected and trained to guide and support the ongoing adaptation of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars to the university environment and academic demands. Peer mentors and mentees maintain contact through email, telephone and in-person meetings throughout the university’s academic year.

Together with their peer mentors, groups of scholars discuss community challenges and burning issues. Twitterstorms are an example of the fun ways Mastercard Foundation Scholars exchange their constructive ideas and thoughts about transformative leadership for Africa.
